GREEN CARNATION: 'A Night Under The Dam' DVD Teaser Available

September 18, 2006

Norwegian prog metal masters GREEN CARNATION have uploaded a teaser for their upcoming DVD at YouTube.com. The footage for the disc was recorded at the "A Night Under the Dam" concert event, which was covered by national TV stations in Norway. The concert took place on August 3, almost 700 metres above the ocean, several kilometers into the mountains, under a 30-meter tall dam built in 1939. With 65 million cubic of water above them, the band — together with guest artists and a string quartet — performed its entire "Acoustic Verses" album and other material in front of more than 500 enthusiastic people, some of them travelling all the way from the USA, Italy, Ireland, Germany and Holland.

Commented guitarist Tchort: "[The concert] was magical. The crew of Eikerapen Roots festival (one of the organizers together with Sublife Productions) had done such amazing work preparing the area for the arrival of all the people and rigged an amazing stage in the middle of the wilderness where very few people have ever been — except when they built the dam in 1939. Bulldozers were working for days to prepare roads and turning points for the bus loads of fans, and our light engineer Bjørnar Skutlaberg had done an amazing job designing the lights and make the area so magical. Ruben, our sound engineer [outdid] him self once again by producing an incredible sound on this memorable night. Not to forget the extremely lojal and dedicated GREEN CARNATION fans who travelled from around the world to be with us.

"I am a musician, but most of all I am a fan of music, but there is no way I would ever reach above the knees of the average GREEN CARNATION fan, and especially those who came to see us [that] night. I am so happy for them right now that the show turned out great and the weather was perfect. It must have been a amazing experience for them, just as it was for us."

The DVD version of the concert will be released in early 2007 via Sublife Productions.
